Business Challenge

The client has a large product portfolio in Application Processors, Low Power Microcontrollers, Wireless connectivity and security solutions for IoT segment and ever-increasing customer base that uses these solutions to launch innovative products in the market.To keep up the pace with new development, as well as to address all the customer queries, client required an extended system engineering and support team with expert engineers who can help them to validate their development,address customer queries, develop reference designs and application notes and eventually support their end-customers by providing the validated reference designs to reduce the time to the market.

VOLANSYS is working as an extended team of client’s business group to provide System Validation and Technical Support

  • System Engineering Team:
    • BLE module validation:
      • Validated client’s MCU boards (KWxx series) for Bluetooth Low Energy v5.0-compliant host stack and controller implementation
      • Validated and demonstrated functionalities (BLE connectivity, exchange of static data, OTA, throughput, etc.) for client’s MCU boards with
        Android and iOS based platforms
      • Validated GATT (Generic Attribute Profile) based profiles and services for actual data transfer procedures and formats as per BLE specification
        to ensure interoperability between devices
    • Zigbee module performance testing:
      • Validated firmware application on Zigbee wireless MCU to improve performance of the software application with hardware subsystems
      • Validated various sensor devices, alarm devices and display devices over Zigbee network and provided sophisticated analytics and reports
        from Zigbee data traffic using tools like Ubiqua and ZGWUI
    • Reported 1.5K+ issues and executed 22K+ test cases for BLE and Zigbee applications
    • White box testing for embedded applications for client’s new series of processors (i.MXRTxx)
      • Validated different applications supported on processors (security, anomaly detection, digit recognition, etc.) and created its demos, application
        notes and user guides
      • Audio quality check using HiFi4 DSP core
      • Power consumption analysis
      • Powerquad functionality test
  • Technical Support Team:
    VOLANSYS also provided technical support on i.MX (6/7/8) series application processors to the client’s tier 1 and 2 end-customers for hardware and
    firmware related queries along with improving their product documentation

    • Resolved 45+ queries (hardware and firmware) on a monthly basis posted by end-customers in community forum or shared via client by replicating
      the scenarios faced by end-customers

      • Hardware queries
        1. – Fix issues in schematic, interface debugging, and PCB layout using tools like Orcad Allegro, Altium, Digital Storage Oscilloscope (DSO),
          multi-meter, etc
      • Firmware queries
        1. – Fix issues in interface, application, Linux and u-boot device driver debugging, image flashing and compilation errors using tools like GNU
          Debugger (GDB), Kernel GDB, Valgrind, Digital Storage Oscilloscope (DSO), multi-meter, etc
    • Posting resolutions to the client’s community forum and sharing with the end-customers
    • Reviewed and updated technical documentation (Reference Manual, Datasheets, Release Notes, etc.) after fixing and releasing the issue
